Real gentlemen are those who show real gentleness and graciousness without anyone looking on, instead of being "gentle" and "gracious" only when they get to show others how much of a gentleman they are.
Same goes for a really knowledgeable person who does not feel the need to show the world that they are knowledgeable. Speaking when necessary, and appropriately.
